New Day was established in the summer of 1994 to assist the Frail and Elderly citizens of Douglas and the surrounding Counties to remain in their homes and prevent premature institutionalization. Upon opening our doors, we were requested to provide Respite Care for a pre-adolescent with a Developmental Disability diagnosis. Quickly, it became apparent there was a section of our community that was under-served.
Presently, New Day provides Day Program services to adults with developmental disability with an on-site Specialized Habilitation constituency and supported Community Connection service to promote integration. We also provide Family Caregiver and Host Home Services whereby we work with contracted employees to provide 24-7 care.
New Day strives to create a family atmosphere. Both customers and staff support each other in moving towards established personal goals.
