The New Day Explorers Program is a community access program connecting participants with their environment. Each week participants will have three unique opportunities to interact with local businesses and non-profit agencies and explore the community. NEW!! Classroom Page!
Job Skills Exploration: New Day has established partnerships with local businesses to allow Explorers to investigate employment opportunities in the community. Explorers are encouraged to try a new job each month. Job Skills Exploration takes place every Monday, with a new employer each month. Prior job explorations have been held at Entree Vous , Mountain Man Fruit & Nut, and the Pinery Country Club.
Community Service Exploration: Explorers also have the opportunity to give back to the community through participation in a weekly service project. Similar to the Job Skills Exploration, community service projects are held at the same location once a week for a period of one month. Past projects have included helping at the Parker Food Bank, assisting with games at Victorian House, and taking care of horses at Ray Family horse farm.
Cultural and Recreational Exploration: Explorers can participate in relevant and meaningful social experiences, to be held at a different location each week. Each day’s agenda incorporates exercise and life skills activities for all skill and ability levels. Previous outings have taken the Explorers to the Farmer’s Market, museums, art studios and state parks.
